Got to be honest, doesn't need much more power for the type of bike it is... Started making my own low seat.... Aaaggghhh :Greedy: Taken the cover off and trimming the foam down, also dislike the ridge in the middle of it so that's gone too Pics to follow
Hey Markey...thats a good looking thing.. is the exhaust the full FULL system, no cat, valves etc? how does it sound? is it not a bit too loud? I have the high level termi, but it still has all the cats n flaps and I sometime feel a little anti social and self conscious when i have to pass the police :0/ also wondering...have you noticed a big flat spot when cruising 80-90 mph about 6-7K rpm... mine is pretty bad, on the motorways when you are trying to hold a constant speed, the power fluctuates a hell of a lot, almost feels like its running out of fuel - something to do with the O2 sensor and closed loop apparently, would be interested to know if your full system and map fixes this?
I have the same bike and it is the full race system. It's f'ing loud but very sweet on the overrun pooping away like a beauty. Ear plugs are a must for any length of time. I have more issues with the low down smoothness. Around 2-3k it's a bit like you explained. Maybe thats a normal thing though. To me it feels like it's not mapped perfectly. I have thought of putting a PCV on it but would have to take it to get mapped as there are no maps to download from dynojet. Compared to the skyhook multi the map just doesn't feel as polished. Still a lot of fun and the noise is so deep and bellowing all good though even with the tip toe traffic lights.
Alright Dave As Mr Noble stated, it is the Full FULL system without any cat/valves etc and is pretty loud when you open her up but not too bad on tick over or riding softly round the old bill :Nailbiting:….There is a baffle insert if needed… Can't say I've noticed anything that far up the rev range but again as Mr Noble stated, a bit lower down around 3k but it's not that bad if i'm honest…. All good so far with the exception of the tippy toes but learning to lean a tad to the right at stop and hopefully my new seat will help a little
I got the dB killer too, i tried it once but took it out, prefer the sound without, even if it is a bit louder than normal, I;m thinking i might try it again to see if it improves the fueling...failing that i might need to talk to the guys at Ducati Manchester to see if there is a fix without resorting to PC and new maps.(£££) Honestly its not a huge problem since most of the miles are bendy roads where the throttle is being twisted all the time, but if i plan to do a european trip on it, the motorway miles will be tedious. I'm overseas again and all this talk of exhausts and bike stands is making me miss the bike..back at the weekend though, hopefully rack up a few more miles next week... it totally addictive..had the thing for 2ish months now...4000 miles.. rear tyre #2 and the front is down to the wear bars too, so new rubber next week... expensive addiction! on another note.... what mode do you guys mostly use? I started off using sport mode with a few ventures to race, but since i've got use to the bike i'm in race mode all the time and backed the DTC off to level 1...haven't tried it completely off yet but i suppose I should give it a go... If I drop back to the normal sport mode it feels just a bit too soft, I like that instant pick-up it has in race...
There is a member of the Swedish Ducati Club called Daniel Hagglund who has fitted an 1198 motor into an '07 Hypermotard. It was featured in Bike January 2014. It required a new airbox, makes 169 bhp and is very loud. It wheelies all through third.
Hey Comfy - fitting an 1198 into your Hyper should surely be your next project, far more exciting than an internal rear mudguard.
Well, although I said im done with it I would like to go up to some full on K&N's to give it the induction roar....but ive got an RSV4 which is begging to go on the dyno but will be steep and also a supermoto which ive poured close to 1500 quid into so far and not one thing is connected to another....
Merry effin Xmas and all that... Just had a BT30 fit to the front of the HM, now running BT30's front and rear.. the rear has about 2000 miles under it and its looking pretty good, mostly less than ideal conditions,, but have to say its pretty bloody good. the front tyre was fitted on Xmas eve,, shitty, cold greasy roads, not the best time to run in a new front.. just touching the brakes, in straight line, had the ABS jumping, so some steady miles out to Hawes, via Sedbergh, and the confidence was improving along with the road surface, finally some dry but cold tarmac, let me lean the thing over a bit more. so now with the front scrubbed in and what I know is a solid rear, the run home, east to west, over Alston and Hartside, in near freezing weather, I can safely say BT30s are the biz for bad weather grip, hard braking on wet moorland roads never had the front ABS cutting in (rear ABS? well, thats been working overtime) and so long as the entry speed is sensible, you can get on the throttle nice and early and lean on the DTC. Bit of body language in the corner, not, hanging-off-trying-to-get-your-knee-down, style, but just getting your weight over the tank and moving your upper body over the front of the bike, left or right, give loads of confidence and even if the rear does try to break away, before the DTC saves your ass, the position and weight on the bike feels you could ride out any amount of rear wheel drift. I've never really done any serious off-roading, but I get the feeling that this is how you would ride an MX in the corner, perhaps that's the point of the HM!? anyway off to south wales tmrw (rhoose,, if anybody fancies a brew), snow and ice forecast, should be fun, probably on this road between 11 and 3pm if i don't get lost.. so give me a wave.... just thought i'd leave you with this video...proper supermotard technique, if I get anywhere near this, next stop is a ride in a helicopter and some hospital food...
Not quiet for me.....just finished 4 hour stint in the garage...getting to the shitty stuff now....but its looking good.... I hope to be practising the supermoto stuff asap....although I suspect at least 6 weeks as I'm getting to the electrics and the first thing I have to do is fabricate a tray....not sure how to do that yet though...
Cheers...nice to have verification that I'm doing the right thing....the icing on the cake is yet to come...the clocks....this is what's going in.... But there's a shed load of prep to do first though....
Yep...got all that to do and be fitting the m unit to do away with the old loom and an RFID ignition as well...as good as a complete rewire...but it should give it a nice twist....ie all state of the art digital tacho, starter, built in alarm etc etc...
surely, once all the STOP...GO... bits are installed... you wont be able to resist a quick blat up and down the street!... I dont detect any complex engine management stuff going on there... so nearly good to go
Well....not as easy as that.....electrically...nothing is connected to anything else.....there is no loom in there at the moment....
