Well, ive gotta say ive been/am toying with selling mine, as ive been allowed to keep my supermoto project so i technically have 2 supermotos.....thought of swapping the hyper out with a streetfighter or another naked....z1000, that kind of thing....but, and its a biggie....the hyper is the most fun thing ive had....even better with the advent of the stainless headers fitted few weeks back.....and soon to go up a notch tomorrow with an induction kit winging its way towards me ....and then the icing on the cake....back to cjs for a retune...
Won't be an easy decision and if you regret it you can always buy another one, which I've done with various vehicles in the past.
Yep....well as i say ive now got 2 bikes with the same riding position....its all about for me keeping it different.... i must say when i read magazine reviews about 3 different bikes....ie gsxr, zx10, r1....and go on about how different they are....they seem the same to me....but the im no racer or seasoned biker to be honest....a naked seems to fit right in for the 3 ride positions...thats why i keep my rsv4....anything else of the same ilk would be, well, the same....
Yep....im in the lucky position of having an amazing wife who puts up with it all....but then its kinda her fault in a way.....about 5 years ago i was riding bicycle to work (for about 7 years up til then) and ok with it....but, her bosses son was an ambulance driver and said that of all the accidents he went to cyclists were always injured the worst.....at that point she spent 6 months pressuring me to get a bike again....at that point id been off a bike for about 12 years or so (and happy with it..) Got into a blazing argument one night and then mid argument went on to ebay and did a buy it now on a drz400sm....i think i got to the bottom of the road and thought...well, this isnt enough....z1000 a year later...duc after that, then rsv4, then another duc, then the ktm and here we are.....its her fault i tells ya!
She's right though, I've dealt with quite a few fucked up people on motorbikes but far more cyclists and people coming off horses.
Yep - well - in my 7 years on a bicycle a bloke turned left on me and I bounced of the side of his van, my crank disintegrated and I went over the bars with a lorry right behind me and as I went down in the path of it, it went over the top of me (due to its ride height I was kinda underneath it!). Went over the bars in work in the car park as (and it was my fault) I was trying to beat my time into work, and the front tyre came off the rim) - and more importantly the security camera missed it as it definitely would have got me 250 quid on you've been framed.... If you sprinkle inbetween that near misses theres been loads but ive gotta say on the hyper, or my rsv people see and hear you coming... And all ive done on a bike so far is write of an r6...
looked at a scrambler in riders on saturday....even worse in real life....coupled with those even more awful bars....no on multiple levels....sat on it and almost felt embarassed....immediately left and back oni the hyper....confidence in ducati restored...
Hi Comfy, I was wondering who would rise to the bait first re the Scrambler: Brassflute or yourself. I guess based on your posts on other threads it was obvious. I think they feel far too small for me (6'2'') and I look ridiculous on them. I like the height of the Hyper. Having got the Hyper, another Supermoto and the RSV - what are you expecting to gain from a streetfighter? Curious Moses.
Not expecting to gain anything....just the change of riding position.....they hyper is much the same as the ktm....but, I must stress im swinging toward keeping it at the moment due to the way it now goes with just the pipe change, couple that with the addition of K&N's and dyno work would make it violently uncontrollable...perfect!
Yeah - sorry about the scrambler thing - I cant see what they (ducati) were thinking when they dreampt that up....
finally, dry roads, no salt and a couple of hours off work... new rear tyre (BT30) nicely scrubbed in, 200 miles over the last couple of evenings and feck, I know the 821 is fast but, it just keeps surprising me how fast and how good it is... time to book a week off work and get some serious miles in, scotland? maybe?
I went out at the weekend with a couple of mates with speed triple 1050 and gsx1400, left them standing through the corners, they couldn't believe how nimble the sp was and how much grunt it had out of the bends, I'm seriously impressed with mine and looking forward to some sunny days!
Hello, I've just bought my second SP should collect her next week from Reading (Blade) Ducati. The first was the original white job which I loved. A few photos of her below - on the Pont de Normandy on the way back from Le Mans, some at Stowe, the Super Sausage Cafe and Force India (all near Silverstone), one in Oxford and one on the beach in Normandy. My only gripe was the headlight - I was tired and nearly missed a corner on a dark night in Hampshire, god knows how the tyres stuck. Great ABS. Helped me from avoiding going into a canal in France, when a car nearly ran me off an iron bridge.
Hi all got my 821 hyper couple of weeks a go from Ducati in reading, bought it over the phone didn't even take it for test ride!!!!! And what a great bike it is plenty fast enough upset a lot of sports bikes around the Swindon area already!!!! Puts a smile on your face every time you go for a blast have no complaints about the bike at all !!!!
