Ya the yellow ones have been turned off now but the police still use the hand held ones around Swindon
I've just bought a red Hyper to go with my 748R which I've had since 2003. Had a low level Termi fitted plus race seat and Eco tech rad/engine guard. Can't believe how much fun the Hyper is after riding sports bikes for so many years. Only had it three days so it's 6,000 rpm max !
nice one Gaz...I remember running mine in and thinking, feck, this thing is torquey and fast, even upto 6000rpm, then once you get past that first service, the 7-9K rpm is like a drug, the acceleration and speed is a proper rush! I used to have a 748BP (some fecker stole it!) and thought it was fantastic, but honestly, I think the hyper is better in every way, more comfortable, practical, OK, so maybe not for cruising all day on the motorways but it can be done if there is a good set of twistys at the end of it... how are you finding it after the sports bikes? i always thought the race reps, exciting though they are, had too much unusable top end speed, the Hyper seems to make so much more sense on the road, good torque, fantastic engine response, brakes, suspension.... making it more practical on the A/B-roads for, er..."making progress" without your licence self destructing Dave
You can Rev the nuts off the 748R it has usable power (about 110bhp) and is so stable at high speed and that's the problem, it's better at speed you need at least 60 mph to take the weight off your wrists so a bit of a pain around town. I won't sell it I've had it for 12 years and know it really well and it's never let me down. It's so nice sitting high and upright going slow is no problem I'm amazed at how well it handles I had the tyres scrubbed in after 30 miles ! Can't wait for full power fun
