  1. What year did they start the sandcast cases on the s? Thought only the R had sandcast cases?

  3. So the only way of knowing if it was an R motor would be to strip it?

  5. According to my knowledge all Ducati engine cases had been sandcast until the 999 and after that they changed to a cheaper production method. Hence later issues with crank bearings due to different expansion of the crankcase
