I was always a Sidi guy, the squeaks get annoying though. For some reason I switched to Supertech R's which were extremely comfy, but I got punted off on the road and broke my ankle (amongst other bones) so that was the end of the Supertech's for me, it wasn't a fast off and IMO they didn't do their job. Went back to Sidi's but eventually bought some Dainese leathers with required Dainese in boots, so bought some Axial D1's and they are by far the best fitting boot I've owned, they're a PITA to get on but once your foot is in they're great. As for buying on-line, unfortunately I'd probably go to a shop and try them on then check on-line to see if you can get them cheaper. Saying that I took a punt on my Dainese boots on-line and from abroad and it panned out OK.
After all these interesting personal accounts of boot issues I decided to press on with the DUCATI CORSE V5 AIR RACING BOOTS and found I can now get them on with a little perseverance. Once on they are super comfortable. Just need to get on track now to see if they knock seconds off my lap times
I have an ankle full of screws after a nasty accident and protection is high up my list. I went from Alpinestars to Sidi for the additional ankle protection.
I have a Pair of SIDI REX, I bought them precisely due to the ankle support having had very painful injuries back 20 years ago. I have to say they are the MOST uncomfortable boots I've ever worn. And a bloody nightmare to get on and off. BUT I think are starting to get more worn in. There is little to no control feel though, which I think is a shame. They feel more like a SKI boot than anything else... Well Armored but at the expense of Comfort and feel.
Now that I have the boots for it, is a dangle too much in Middle Group or does it show bold ambitions to join Fast Group?
