  6. I've had a bit of a soft spot for a Mk1 Panda ever since I owned a 4x4 example many years ago.
It was great until I could no longer find any sound metal to weld patches to.

  10. It's funny you should mention this because one of the cars I've owned which unexpectedly wormed its way into my affections was a black Fiat Panda MK1, although it was a diesel. I bought it because it was £500, I was broke and I badly needed a car, any car, but to my great surprise it was a hoot to drive. Due to being in my twenties at the time, I drove it everywhere like I'd stolen it - I used to work in the Docklands and I can fondly recall going round the roundabout underneath Canary Wharf, tyres squealing, on only 3 wheels, on many an occasion. :D

Sadly the cambelt snapped on Commercial Road, just past Aldgate, and it went to the great scrapyard in the sky....

  11. Many years ago, I was returning from a brisk ride on my then wife’s Yamaha TZR125 (blowing out the gunk build-up) when a bloke in a Fiat Panda just drove into the side of me as I was going through junction. The impact was significant and I remember the feeling of both wheels of the TZR lifting off the tarmac and my right foot was crushed in the process. My foot aches every time I see an old Panda. :D
