If you look closely, he has a rope, (though I'm not sure where it's last attachment point is).
Also if you look at the trees, the photograph has been rotated to make it look overhanging.
Still, you wouldn't get me up there though! Serious skill and cahonas.

 

Thought for a moment he was solo climbing.

 

One of the hazards of rock climbing is your car get broken into as the scallies know you’ll be gone a while.

 

There's a documentary on Netflix about the bloke free solo climbing el capitan in yosemite Park. Pretty sure it's him

Both incredible films with unsurprising ends.
