Amazingly, that’s only the second most Australian thing I’ve seen recently. Click link to watch vid…. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CkkhI1sAoQT/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Watched that on Twitter fairly recently, one wit commented that judging by his clothing that could have been anywhere between the 80’s and the 2000’s.
Yep that amused me too. The disk is visible still attached to the inside of the wheel when it falls over at the end, so it's not just a case of the studs failing. Wheel spacers adding too much strain in my opinion.
The front wheel of my Datsun 280ZX turbo 2 seater sheared off for exactly that reason. Thankfully I was only doing about 10mph at the time as I was pulling into a space outside my house, but I’d been doing close to 3 figures about 10 mins beforehand. I also had a fried brake pad fall out of one of the front callipers, so the pedal sank to the carpet in the same car, and again, although I’d been hooning, I was parking up when it happened. I often wonder if I have a guardian angel, as I have had numerous other similar lucky escapes over the years.
