Rarest Ducati

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Speed_Triple, Jan 17, 2015.

  1. Pensions ... I didn't expect ever to need one. But against all expectations, here I am, still! New Multi in 2013 and planning to add a PP this year. Can't imagine not donning a crash helmet so will resort to a Canam Spyder when the legs get too weak!!

  2. Oh come on now, surley a Caterham R500 is a little more bike like :)

  3. I have never driven one, but the Spyder has handlebars and not a steering wheel. I like handlbars! Oddly enough, I used to live in Caterham!

  4. And the price difference - in the Can-am's favour - is staggering!

  5. Strange coincidence. Got any strokers or big Jap fours?

  6. No strokers (pity though - love H1's and H2's) the Z1b turbo in my avatar, a few modern ish jap 4's, an old 1986 GSXR750-RR with a dry clutch. My 2 project KR1000's of course - see build thread on here...

  7. My mate, he with the bike pension pot, runs a Moriwaki Kawasaki to use on track days. image.jpg

  8. But he also uses a Monster 900 I picked up for him from a contact and says it was surprising fast and competitive. Interesting!

  9. That's yummie, haven't seen that particular frame before...knew a bloke years ago who had the first Moriwaki race bike with frame number 1

  10. He's 58 and really should know better but ...

  11. I would say anything from what I paid for it £3650 to £4000 maybe in the future. Less than 20 UK models exist now as I know of at least three that have been written off. I have done less than 500 miles on it since buying it simply because I bought another 748 and now use that.

I have the original bill of sale showing 8 delivery\test miles from Moto Cinelli who were the importers at the time along with the SPS handook which was specific to that model, the gold paddock stand and yellow cover which sadly has seen much better days as it's no more than an overgrown J cloth!!!

A unique bike to ride and cheaper to run than an R as belt changes are every 2 years.

  13. Never seen one in the UK. Is it a private import? Details please ...

  14. From Google Translate

"I offer this gem of engineering which the magazine 's January 1998 World Ducati dedicate ' the cover and a long article , calling the Ducati most valuable in the world .
To see the technical references : Chapter 11/3 Facebook
The bike is equipped with a super engine still does not and has never been set in motion"

  16. Well, not sure if it's the most valuable in the world, but it's certainly the dearest :) I should put mine up for £200K then mine would be the dearest :Dead:

  17. I agree. But it is rather beautiful don't you think?

  18. It's different I'll give you that! I don't like the bling though. Considering the supposed value it would have been nice to have had more detail from the seller as to what it actually is purporting to be I think!
