Rear Internal Mudguard.....

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by comfysofa, Jun 27, 2014.

  1. Don't worry... Not forgotten about it..... I've been gently pestering..... Just fired off another email...

  2. At last the sample is ready - he made it out of mild steel ( dunno why as I asked for the sample to be stainless ) but hey at least it ready - hopefully will collect it tonight.

  3. Got it... Not fitted yet but plan to later on... Think I'm gonna have to hack it around a bit more... 20141009_170507.jpg 20141009_170455.jpg

  4. Also, considering integrating a tail tidy into it....any opinions on that?

  5. Keep them separate I say, tail tidies are a personal choice & visual, the mudguard is out of sight functional thing.

  6. true - but (playing devils advocate here) the tail tidy would add a couple of inches and simplify the whole set up = could do 2 different types...

  7. Ok.... Hacked it around a little but the mount isn't right but initially it could look really good based on the fact that it won't be seen... [IMG]

    Any thoughts anyone?

  8. It's looking neat - does it give you the option to use more of the 'boot' space under the seat?

  9. Dunno....don't think so...never really thought of that...here's a question...should I stay where I am with regards to what its covering or....make it bigger...ie go down a bit more and a bit wider....or does it become more bulky at that point and start to loose sportiness....

  10. I suppose you could push some clothing down there....

  11. Ok. Hacked it around.... Have taken the termi mount off so he gets the fitting just right... As you can see....

  12. Just to add - how everyone with coating - or lack of it....the final units will be in stainless, I thought about powder coating them black to make them a bit more invisible...although this'll add to the cost or leave'em in stainless...opinions...?

Alternatively could do red but its going to be on the receiving end of everything off the road....

  13. Should have a stainless one knocked up by tomorrow with correctly spaced holes...this one was out of 3mm mild steel which felt like holding armour plating the new one will be out of 2mm stainless. Ill Throw some pics up when ive got it....

  14. I thought you were a titanium fan comfy!

  15. Yeah....and your going to give me 200 quid for a sheet of metal! :)

  16. 2mm is still a bit OTT I think...

  17. I'd go 18SWG in Stainless

  18. Well. Went to look at the rehashed version on Friday and I'd say 2mm is good...pliable enough to bend by hand and strong enough to stop something going through....ie protective...

  19. Hey Comfy, will you be offering these to guys across the pond? And will it work with the 2-1 Termi exhaust?

    Thanks!

  20. Still a little too thick ;) in fact if you swaged it 1mm would be stronger and half the weight
