Started to lay the base paint down on the tail you can see where the fading will start & go out towards the end...
Masking is now off...There's the pearl green stripe...Tomorrow he will send me a pic of it in the sunlight so it will pop...and some of you thought that I was going to go with a gold colour lol!
Got some more progress done on the nose fairing, the custom nose flag will look like it has been torn away revealing the carbon fibre underneath...
Flag is a nice idea but...you might get bored of it after a while and think "why didn't I just do a standard graphic?" Or, you might not.
The nose flag isn't quite finished, it looks like the wind peeled it off & now has broken chips...still a little more detail to go on...
Might just be me but I preferred the non-3D flag, especially the bits by the DUCATI text (if they're not just bits of excess tape). That Ducati text as so clean and elegant, I think the clean and elegant look should have been used on the flag too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So here is the just about finished version of the nose flag... just has to add some shadows in there and "Voila"
Side & lower fairings are now painted, just got to add the checkered flag and the Ducati Corse logo and clear over...

Update: got the checkered flag back on the side panels as they were on the previous scheme but now they look 1000 times better & more of a 3D ghosted version...all I can say is simply awesome how this turned out! Here is the original on the day that I crashed... Now here is the new look on the carbon panels... Here is the painted grain flowing with the flag... Here is the 3D look of the flag & it gives the carbon an illusion of a bent, curved or rolled look, pretty amazing what your eyes show you... And here it is with the clear coat on, notice the carbon is a little darker from the original colour or raw look? It gives it more of a deeper defined look... The Ducati Corse decal will be painted on there later today with more pics to follow...
Got the 'Ducati Corse' fonts & flag painted on... Carbon Side panel is now mostly finished, what you see here is all hand painted...awesome! Now it has been cleared & there is also a drop shadow under the flag to give you the illusion that it is floating on the carbon fibre, there will be more dropped shadows under each letter as well when this is finished...
