Recommend Boots And Gloves

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by Advikaz, Sep 3, 2016.

  1. bought some altbergs this year. best boots ever. use them for anything from walking the dog, cleaning the car, mowing the lawn, squashing stuff etc etc

  2. +1 on the smx plus ive been wearing various pairs for the last 6 years (although admittedly the fastenings and quality dont seem to be "what they were"). Still great value and comfort and protection.

I tried some of those Dainese in boots, hated the way they looked from above so to speak and my heel kept sliding around in them despite them being the right size.

Sidi's are for short arses, horrible high heel on them although i do love the design apart from that.

If money was no object it would be the A* Supertech R but i wear them every day and they wear too quickly.

Daytonas look like clown shoes imo.

Gloves are just ten a penny never bought some shit ones .

  3. I have a pair of TCX S-Race GTX boots and think they're excellent. They took a little time to break in fully but they're comfy now, offer really good protection, didn't cost silly money and the Goretex lining is 100% waterproof and never leak.
Before them I had a pair of Oxtar Goretex boots which were equally as reliable.
Oxtar/TCX is the same company; I think they had to change their name from Oxtar a few years back due to Alpine Stars kicking up a stink about the name being too similar...

  4. I bought a pair of Sidi Vortice boots at the start of the season and absolutely hate them. So uncomfortable and a right pain in the arse to get on.
I've got a pair of Spyke Totem II that I use on track that are almost done but they're so comfortable and for £110 they were a bargain. Might start using the Sidi's on the track and see if I can break them in a bit more, even though I've done 1500 miles in them.
I bought some Handroids at the same time and although they were a bit clumsy to start with they're now pretty good now they've been soaked and broken in. I reckon the Handroids will give good protection if it comes to it.
