Good luck guys, making me want to drag my old R6 out. I hope some of you get some on board videos, post up those vids
26 sleeps............Can you get a chocolate advent calendar counting down to 1st track day of the season?
Ha! I've only got 4 sleeps until my next track day! I'm off to Mallory on Saturday and it's unsurprisingly looking like it's going to be freezing and wet
Sorry to hijack this thread, but are the Haslam days worth it ? I was recommended it by someone else, but circa £300 for a half day seems a lot even considering you're using their bike
I hope it's worth it, I have a voucher for one of their premier days to use up at some point this year!
That's the one I was looking at. Premier 600 at Donnington on April 13th I'm at the California Superbike School on April 21st too, so could be a fun 8 days Supposed to be very good, but you only get 3 sessions out on track and it's done by lunchtime. Instructor to pupil ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 in some cases Interested to hear if anyone's done it ?
Yes I did the premier earlier last year. Had an excellent day, the instructors very quickly assess your ability & ride accordingly. I was initially paired with a lad who struggled a little so spent the rest of the sessions 1:1. They give you tips & encorage you to ride faster on each session but safely . I was lucky with the weather, textbook warm & dry. Tai Woffinden , speedway champ was in my group, nice guy. He went out 1:1 with Ron on the blade in the afternoon on the Fireblade so I stayed back to watch that. ( Also , if you mention MCN at the time of booking they give you a discount, they will be at the show - London at the weekend giving discounts too)
Anyone from the South West interested in sharing travel costs - Van hire and fuel etc. I'm in west Cornwall and looking to book a couple of TR's for March and April.
Are you riding to the track? If so and you don't have a lot of prep before you hit the track then you don't need to be in such a hurry. 7:30 will be the sign-on start time, but you don't obviously need to be first in the queue. However, if you're taking a van/trailer and want a garage then you'll need to get there earlier than 7:30. I would expect all the garage spaces to be taken by then if the day is full. Plus you want time to get unpacked, set your garage space up, get the warmers on, set pressures blah blah because once you've signed-on and had your briefing you'll need to be noise tested and then you could be the first group out. I'm a bit of a worrier with these things, I always arrive super early and sign on as one of the first just so I can be totally chilled before I hit the track. Nothing worse than rushing about with your head in a mess before you even begin.
I'm riding there. If I don't get a garage space can I leave my rucksack somewhere? Just wanted to take a few snacks and a couple of socket for front sprocket and rear wheel and a pair of jeans and trainers
Just camp yourself out somewhere and make sure you keep phone n wallet with you. Even bikers are thieves sometimes. You'll only need a small corner enjoy
