I seem to recall one Sunday morning at 5am on the M1 en route to the MotoGP at Donington it felt pretty safe to test the limits, until I spotted the big colourful Range Rover on the bridge at the end of my empty mile long straight.
The reason my mate got off, or rather got off lightly was due to the fact that 2 days after being caught he was heading off to tour the world for 18 months so no point going to court for a ban. They did a deal on 3 points and £60 fine
Did a deal. I like that. 'Would you change the fine from 12 points and a ban, to 3 points and a £60 fine if I bought you a latte and three doughnuts from the Wild Bean Cafe?' 'Of course I would' 'Excellent....sugar?'
caught once in a hire car doing 49 in a 40 - fixed camera did speed awareness course - never had any points - well that's done it
Doing 60 thru West Meon village wold be far more dangerous, yet many do that every weds eve and sun morning.. Go figure...
