My dad used to take me to Maine Road as a kid, mid 70’s, the gratuitous violence, the skin heads, the 12 hole ox blood doc martens, the racism, the chanting. ‘ Don’t look at them son, just follow me’ Oh and the boring football bit in between! Sad news, he was a top player.
