  11. My dad used to take me to Maine Road as a kid, mid 70’s, the gratuitous violence, the skin heads, the 12 hole ox blood doc martens, the racism, the chanting.
    ‘ Don’t look at them son, just follow me’

    Oh and the boring football bit in between!

  14. Crosby beach is worth a visit, take Wellies or decent boots. The beach sculptures by Hirst look great.

  15. My favourite player of the day.Came from a small mining village near mine in County Durham.Was a handy local cricketer too. Think he would be called a box to box midfielder these days .Tremendous athlete and great player
