Farewell Dickie Davis -ironic that he died on a Saturday afternoon, his famous ITV slot was than aswell.

RIP John - quite probably the best commentator in my lifetime for footie. Sad news.

 

If the flag shaggers wanna build a statue get on with it..

 

And it sort of marks the passing of that 'era' of when footie was well.... just footie and not marketing hype, big business & super leagues...

Gawd, I'm sounding like Ron Manager - jumpers for goal posts....

They don't make many like Simone anymore. RIP.

Indeed. Whenever I see old people I often wonder just what amazing/incredible stories they could recall.

 

Its strange to think back to my early teens - Top of the Pops, Chopper bikes, first 'plane trip, Mohamed Ali, etc was my entire world; yet I was surrounded by these amazing people who fought and lived through WWII.

 

I’m patiently waiting for someone exciting to die.
