  4. It is in the nature of mining, and of geological facts, that each mine has a finite life - all mines are scheduled for closure eventually, but usually not all at once and only after the paydirt is exhausted. Oddly enough most of the deep coal mines in Japan were closed down about the same time as those in UK. In the Japanese case there was far less aggravation, and the ex-miners all quickly turned to more profitable and less dangerous work; that is what MT entirely failed to achieve here.

  7. Late entrant as I have not been able to post on here for some weeks now:
I couldn't help noticing in this thread that those who disliked MT said what she did to them/their town/their industry.
Those who appreciated MT for what she did (note din't say liked MT), said what she did for the country/Western civilisation.

I celebrate life. I have never celebrated the death of anyone, Sadam, Gaddaffi, Bin-Ladin etc has never pleased me.
When they are removed from power, they cease to be effective. When MT left No. 10 that was it. New regime.
I can't believe people dancing for joy at someones death. Especially those who weren't even around in the 80's.
Crass, disrespectful, unintelligent and moronic. I hope nobody has anything to do with them.

  8. im with you on that but killing murdering despots like sadam bin-ladin gaddaffi is no worse than puting a mad dog to sleep

  9. Oh I agree!
If I thought it necessary I'd pull the trigger, which sounds like a contradiction of my celebrating life comment, but if you stop a murderer (kill if necessary) you save lives of innocent people.
I just don't agree with celebrating it or singing Ding Dong the witch is dead afterwards.

  10. I think she's very plain.
