  1. I was listening to it last week in the van. Its a little dated now but still sound good. Love the Jesse Jackson and Pope stuff. Lou was a great musician and will be much missed by me.

  2. I took my GPz out for a ride, the engine felt good between my thighs
The air felt cool, it was 40 degrees outside.
I rode to Pennsylvania near the Delaware Gap, sometimes I got lost and had to check the map
I stopped at a roadside diner, for a burger and a coke

There were some country folk and some hunters inside,
Somebody got themselves married, and somebody died
I went to the jukebox and played a hillbilly song

They was arguing about football as I waved and went outside
And I headed for the mountains feeling warm inside
I love that GPz so much you know I could kiss her.

  3. wasnt a fan but recognize his talent. RIP.

  4. Saw him at Glasto 93. Brilliant.

RIP Mate. You were tops. :upyeah:

  5. A very old mate of mine was a roadie for him and after about 4 months,Lou went up to him and said "I must get you a beer as I've seen you at quite a few gigs and you must be one of my best fans".Gene replied"but I work for you" This is a true story highlighting good old-fashioned confusion me thinks :)

  6. A big loss.

I was lucky to get a ticket for the Velvet Underground re union tour back in 1992 ish.

On Monday BBC Radio Scotland re played a fantastic interview with commentary which was done by Janice Forsyth.

It's a great piece of radio

  7. I have been a fan for years.
Also lucky to see then at Glasto in 93

  8. I grew up on the Professionals, it was a real treat for me to be allowed to stay up until 2200 on a school day. What a sad day :-(

  10. what??.lewis collins has passed away?
what a shock..was he ill? i never knew
    RIP

  11. Was he not a bit of a fantasist who confused his acting roles with real life ?

The Professionals hasn't really stood the test of time.

It is sad when anyone dies though and 67 is no age really.

  12. Just reading about this on the BBC... What a shame! - RIP

  13. Very sad....loved them guys when I was a kid. Albeit I was a little young to be watcing but I loved the Pro's.

    RIP Lewis, thanks for memories.

  14. Awww sad news :(

When I was allowed to watch it he was my favourite

    RIP Lewis Collins

  15. Not really, before he became famous he was a Para Reg reservist, and was asked to drop out of selection for 21 as he was becoming too well known. It was no secret that he enjoyed the macho side of things, but he certainly wasn't an armchair warrior.

  16. He was also a black-belt in some form of martial arts. As a teenager I once saw him in an exhibition by whichever organisation he was affiliated to.

    RIP Lewis :-(

  17. Feels really personal when role models (well, sort of) pop off, doesn't it?

I shall be keeping my eyes open for 2.8 Capris wearing black arm bands.

  19. I saw him stumble out of a boozer, totally pissed, in Bermondsey in the 70's. They were filming the episode where some robbers had a hospital under siege (which was really a school) The robber fell of a helicopter at the end.
