"We are Motorhead, and we play rock 'n' roll !"

    RIP Lemmy.
You were an absolute legend. A true icon. The man who was rock 'n' roll...

  11. Never saw then live, saw Girlschool before they cut a record in Blackpool as a teenager, they had boobies :)
He was an icon of our times, sad :(

  12. RIP Lemmy.

Saw them a few times years ago ( the 'good old days' when bands toured everywhere to promote an album ).

Think my brother saw him when he was in Hawkwind too.

    Very sad.

  13. RIP Ian - truly the Ace of Spades. I wonder if Julia Roberts will play you if they make a film?

  18. He had been Ill for quite a while, but in true Lemmy style he rocked till the end. Many years ago was always in the pub in Ladbroke Grove all day long at the fruit machine, and he was given a controlled cash float in order to limit his spending, otherwise it would have been 24/7. I think he is truly irreplacable.A rock and roll icon who lived true to his beliefs. That was constant throughout his life, and for that alone I salute him. Wont ever be another like him.

    RIP

  19. Born to lose, lived to win...

    1. "If I have to die and be on my deathbed regretting decisions I made, I'm not interested in that."

    2. "As you go through life's rich tapestry, you realise that most people you meet aren't fit to shine your shoes. It's a sad fact, but it's true. A good friend is someone who'd hide you if you were on the run for murder. How many of them do you know?” (The Independent, 2005)

    3. "Motorhead is nothing if not democratic, but I don't think it's fair to be waving your d*** around when people are minding their own business and might not want to see it." (White Line Fever: The Autobiography)

    4. "If you're going to be a f***ing rock star go be one. People don't want to see the guy next door on stage; they want to see a being from another planet. You want to see somebody you'd never meet in ordinary life." (Rock and Roll Hall of Fame)

    5. "If you didn't do anything that wasn't good for you it would be a very dull life. What are you gonna do? Everything that is pleasant in life is dangerous. Have you noticed that? I'd like to find the b****** that thought that one up."

    6. "Death is an inevitability, isn't it? You become more aware of that when you get to my age. I don't worry about it. I'm ready for it. When I go, I want to go doing what I do best. If I died tomorrow, I couldn't complain. It's been good." (Classic Rock, 2015)

    7. "I don't do regrets. Regrets are pointless. It's too late for regrets. You've already done it, haven't you? You've lived your life. No point wishing you could change it."
