  1. Sad news. RIP

  2. Even when you consider nearly all of them take part in what has to be one of the most hazardous sports, it still seems pretty rough to have seen so much tragedy.

  3. The whole Dunlop family have given so much to road racing and many are thankful for it. It's a terrible sadness when these events happen

  11. In shock at this news
So sad. A perfect gentleman and outstanding rider. RIP William

  12. Tragic tragic news, I dont think there are any words of comfort, but may the family one day be at peace with this and the other similar tragedies that have been brought on them.

    RIP William.

  13. RIP a braver man than me.

  14. Terrible news. Just stuck Road on the telly, hard to watch today.

  15. Agreed i was shocked as well but again with road racing you either get away with it or not , i bet this has brought it home to a few of the road racers out there how dangerous the sport it. I bet Guy Martins decision to hang the gloves up on certain events had something to do with his child and family ...

  16. I watched "Road" a couple of years ago. One of the rare times my wife sat and watched something motorcycle related with me (she always leaves the room as she doesnt like anything motorcycle related). By the end of the film i personally felt totally depressed. My wife looked at me and said very quietly. "I feel so sorry for the women in that family...either they put up with it or they leave and if kids are thrown into the mix then it makes it even harder..."

I told her yesterday the news as it popped up on my phone and she genuinely looked shocked. I think it hits home a little bit more the rider has a bit of celebrity status in that on this occassion William had been interviewed a fair few times, and his persona, a quiet, likable bloke, who loved what he did, til the end. I did hear a phrase some time ago, "Somethin's gonna kill you one day, it may as well be the thing you love." although not this young. RIP.

I cant even begin to think what Michael Dunlop is feeling at this time, but, on the flipside in the most horrible way, he's been through it before....

  17. Tragic a supreme talent and a genuine nice guy our thoughts go out to the family at this time

  18. It’s hard to find the right words, a fantastically talented rider and genuinely nice bloke, when asked about risking his life in the road film he said with an apologetic smile “I suppose I just don’t care” he plainly did care as pulling out of the TT showed, poor guy.

  19. Sad sad news.

  20. Very very sad :(
