The objective of roadcraft is not maximum speed, it's maximum safety. Speed is a byproduct of the riders ability to process things quicker and so handle the increased information from higher speed effectively. Most riders will have a limit of percieved risk and when they reach that they won't go any faster. Where that limits stands depends on their abilities, experiences, responsibilties and mood on any given day. I am sure many people can outrun "advanced riders" but all that really means is we have different perspectives on the situation at hand and have made different decisions about what's the best thing to do for ourselves.
