  2. Don't fall into the trap of timing your laps, before you know it you will be pouring over the data in between sessions to see where you can go faster, meanwhile you will forget that it's supposed to be fun...

Tuition is a good call, as is checking everything is torqued up properly through the day. After all you don't want a rear brake caliper falling off at Rockingham :Bag:

  3. Agree with that^^^ chasing time is a mugs game (normally mug with deep pockets) unless you intend to go race it. If you are always doing the same track, may be worth setting a benchmark every now and then but laptimes only matter in the pub or on a results sheet ;)

And ignore andyb, for reasons only known only to himslef he chooses to berate and be rude to others rather than actually offer some of his considerable knowledge

  4. Yep I was thinking the same ref comments on wheels, pricey bit of kit that could be spent on track time...looked at the GPS timer, again expensive outlay that would be better spent on track time....

Tuition will be from a mate who currently road races and does some short circuit stuff, am chuffed to have that in the bag

Certainly interesting stuff, won't be racing the 1098 its more of a " I have got to try this baby on track" thing

I have a gixxer 600 track ready that I hope to be using in the coming season as a brand newbie novice, again nothing trick but set up for the sole purpose of mid life crisis weekend " fun"

Thanks again to all who took the time with good advice, to those who didn't thanks for...well just being yourselves ;)
