Rossi Retires

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by rcv4, Nov 10, 2015.

  1. Im a fan of all of the riders and will still be watching after Rossi has gone. I think Lorenzo deserved the title but it would have been a greater win if there had been a decent last race between him and Rossi rather than what happened at Valencia. I'm keem to see Suzuki and eventually Kawasaki battling it out at the front regardless of who the riders are to keep it from being a sport dominated by one or two manufacturers. Roll on next year, i think its going to be awesome...

  6. at silverstone a few years back (the one where mm nearly killed cal and a marshal) i was watching from club during all the fp's and although im not a great fan of loz i couldn't help but be impressed by the way he hit it millimeter perfect lap after lap. like a robot. he may lack in persona but his skills are not of this world

  7. 99 shirt for you soon.

  8. lol no chance! i admire many riders and have a rossi shirt a MM shirt (which despite this season bollocks i will still wear with pride) a 58 on me bike and a shirt a 69 shirt and lots of tt stuff. they are all good. but a loz shirt? dont think they make em in my size....

  9. For me, it's about the racing. I will continue to watch! There are also plenty of exciting riders coming through........

We went to Silverstone and Brno this year and could not believe the passion/love for Rossi over the water. I can see attendance dropping when the inevitable happens!

  10. i dont get to/ cant afford to go to many races ...as in silverstone is about it for me gp wise... i have been a rossi fan for 15 odd years but he's never been the draw card in my mind...
it will be a sad day when he retires but i think if you can switch off ya passion for the sport because of one guy leaving then its a bit sad. you are right about the riders coming through and i think there wil be a natural successor to the crown. half the fun will be seeing who that is!
had great hopes for MM and still do. personally as much as ive slated him of late i do admire a bit of fuck you ness...

  11. Vinales is looking usefull in testing, lets see how they perform wen the suzuki goes seamless and a few more horses...and tito isnt looking shabby either.

  12. agree with vinales... he will be another mm on the right bike. suzuki could be that bike..want to put a sneaky 50 on him to take it next season

  13. I agree, Motogp,WSBK and BSB all heading in the right direction, going to be spot on next year!

  14. 50p...i had a tenner each way on ianonne at qatar this year.

  15. the best bet i never had was with "a mate" in 13 .. He said mm wouldnt get close to winning a race.. i said he would and he could win the season.. he said a million to one he wont but didnt shake on it.. not that he could of paid his dues... but vinales at the bookies for an each way has to be a good un if they are offering odds. best bet i ever had money on was a tryless game between the Auckland blues and the natal sharks @ 80-1 and i had a fiver on it .

  16. his antics have sucked for the last 2 years.. 2nd for fuck sake he's got to go....

  17. Its nice to have some sensible conversation about this rather than listening biased Rossi and Marquez fans arguing between eachother! As much as I like Rossi, and admire his consistency this year, nothing lasts forever, lets give somebody a chance to challenge Marquez and Lorenzo now!

  18. i kinda agree but it is a bit hard to sack or write off some one who has come 2nd 2 years in a row in what is the ultimate motorbike racing series. I would love to see young blood on factory bikes, but at the cost of losing someone like rossi? i want to see him leave on a high note, dont think he has a another championship left in him (but im usually wrong) should he be cut because he came "2nd"? thats insane.. only one rider has finished before him in the last 2 championships... perhaps its the other factory riders that should step aside!
who knows, the way he has reinvented himself since getting back on the yam perhaps next year, given the way shit has gone down this season, he may come back even stronger and find the few tenths he lacked on occasion...

  19. Oh you mean assholes. Marquez has indeed behaved like an asshole recently, that i do agree with. Lorenzo, while i'm not his greatest fan, has done nothing wrong.

  20. Bullshit
