About time, he hasn't won a race since 2017 and he's stopped younger riders from getting a ride for years by wobbling round promoting the Rossi 'brand' not to mention his long history of knocking other riders off, ask Sete, Casey & Marc. He's more bothered about t shirt/cap/flag/pencil case sales than the actual sport, good riddance, jog on. Other options are available
Sad to see him go, he was MotoGP he defined MotoGP and without him, his talent, his personality I doubt MotoGP would be anywhere near as successful as it is now, for years we've been spoilt with so many great riders and I imagine some of them (as you will have seen from all of the photos taken with Vale over the years) have been heavily influenced and have followed in his footsteps. His legacy will last and he hasn't gone yet, plus he's got a VR46 team in all 3 classes no other rider can say that, plus his Vr46 academy is bringing the next generations of riders into the sport and navigating the way to good management, coaching, fitness, nutrition etc. His stats speak for themselves, he may not have won in a few years but he's been top 3-4 until last year, regardless of what everyone thinks, not many even achieve that at the peak of their careers.
You've some merits in the above hand grenade comments, but do we really want cardboard box personalities riding these wonderful machines today.Lol
One comment sums up the whole of the Rossi era "your ambition clearly outweighs your talent" Good bye you'll not be missed
Lol, 9 times world champion. 7 moto GP (and he beat Stoner and Lorenzo), 2nd in 2000, 2006, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 3rd in 2010 and 2018. His ambition outweighed his talent? The rest of them besides Marquez should just give up and start knitting I guess because every one of them is garbage in comparison if that's a case of ambition outweighing talent.
He’s an ambassador for the sport. He’s not perfect but who here is? He is the GOAT. In the last few years, at his worst, he’s still achieved more than what Colin Edwards ever did.
