Rossi will be on a Gresini Honda next year!

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Imola, Jun 23, 2012.

  1. yes audi bought a honda bike, dropped it to briggs and said here ya go do something with it. That is how they were building sport/super cars for ages then they did r8. ;) also maybe it is quiet as they all have hangover after wdw?

  2. Thanks Cranker, made oi larf!!

  3. Ducati tweeted a picture of Rossi driving an R8 with the yellow 46, I can't see them letting him go that easily. I'm sure THEY have told him to wait until Brno to make his final decision

  4. Like it or not, having Rossi on your bike does sell bikes in the showroom. That wont be lost on the Germans.

  5. End result man.

  6. Just watched FASTEST ... the JL / VR battle... waw... he truly was the emperor... but from what i've seen the last 2 years... those days seem long gone..
If i were him, i'd think about how gracefully i could leave the theatre... perhaps Stoner being gone, it may bring him closer , but will he ever get close enough?

  7. He's on a duff bike, what do you expect?

  8. BTW Lads.... What's happened to all the Stoner fans on here ??? Weird!

  9. they've retired...

  12. Two subjects at Uni this semester, one of my project's going live this week, my sister got married a week and a half ago ... been busy! And will be for a while ..

Rossi did leave Honda under a cloud, he had a few words to say and Honda weren't happy. It was more magnanimous leaving Yamaha but I think they'd rather stick Crutchlow on the factory bike over Rossi, given they need to keep Jorge happy. And Tech 3 is already full and looking to ditch a rider. Rossi won't ride in the Repsol squad because of how it went down with Honda when he left but I could see him on a satellite Honda. I think his best bet is to stay on at Ducati or do something else entirely. Cars or WSB. I don't think he'll go to WSB, which is a shame because I'd love to see him go there. If he leaves Ducati he will leave Stoner as the only person with enough talent to be able to win on that bike. Races and a championship, as well as pretty much always being in the top few fastest in each session. That will be a massive dent in his ego.

I wonder how Johnny Rea feels at the moment. He's been loyal to Honda and stayed put, even though the CBR isn't the best WSB bike out there and he's been courted by other WSB teams. I think Honda aren't going to take him to GPs, they would have before now and now there's Bautista, Bradl, Marquez, Pedrosa et al... so he needs to start making the tough calls and do what's best for his career - and that isn't staying with Ten Kate! Maybe he should consider CRT? If he got on one and wasted Randy and Colin people would take note. Especially after Casey's comments about Randy saying he should be on a decent bike but (effectively) he's got the wrong passport and not enough personal sponsorship...

  13. Vale appears to need a bike that allows very fast corner entry. As much as i want him to finish the job in GP and think this is the most likely course of action , i would love to see him on the SBK Ducati. If there is one characteristic their superbikes have its this.

  14. I have to laugh when people make assessments that mean Rossi isn't talented! Pmsl

9 world titles, developed bikes from losers to winners, and not much talent.

The Ducati and Stoner had one of those very rare events where the two clicked like no other could. Combination of talent, style, adaptability and probably age and experience. Rossi although I'm sure he wants to win again is at a very different stage in his career to Stoner when he arrived at Ducati; if is was 10 years ago I reckon he would have adapted and bossed it by now

  15. Who said Rossi isn't talented? Or even made an assessment that means he isn't?

  16. To end way ahead of all his fellow ducati sufferers... :)
Not having to have to rely on Nicky for some meddling in front - however short this lasts...
What i miss most - and i think a awful lot of people with me - is the knife between the teeth...
    a bit of Cal attitude...

  17. Cranker V2 did. Next question...

  18. Watched Fastest. Great documentary. Very insightful into why Rossi kept going, and probably why he should retire.

  19. I ascertained many weeks ago that you were a product of Jim Henson....................... Now i'm just trying to figure which one.....
