Rugby Bores - Six Nations Thread - Avoid If Not Keen On Egg-chasing

  1. I still don’t understand why a charge down isn’t considered a knock on but a one handed intercept of a pass is ?
Good game though and the right result in the end.
Wonder how long Jones will remain in the job.

  2. I can’t say I like his attitude, but Eddie Jones has done so much for the English team that I find critics harsh on him. In all honesty, he deserves to retire with honor and praise from the rugby world, rather than despise.

He may also want to let younger players in a bit, but I am no professional coach myself...

  3. The rules are the rules but open to interpretation or mistakes on the day.Jones's work record speaks for itself.

  4. You are only as good as your last match and England have been dire in all 3 matches played so far. Matt Dawson had an interesting take in a news article this morning. Bluntly, England lack a leader of the field, the team are too chummy and far too many soft skills for one of them to step up and enforce discipline. That is directly the responsibility of the England rugby selectors AND the team manager. Slightly off topic, I see the England cricketers covered themselves in glory (not) managing to lose a 5 day test match on day 2. There is clearly a problem with English professional sport and selectors, we do not currently have a single national team able to perform at the highest level with consistency. Flashes in the pan of brilliance win you games but not championships. Andy

  5. Matt Dawson now's a name that has pricked up my ears, what a rapid smooth operator he was for our side.We need to make a pdq decison what sort of rugby we need to sign up with, a wide expansive fast flowing game or just grind out a win everytime,:zzz:Bristol Bears are setting the pace at the minute with exciting rugby in the premiership, more of that please.

  6. Looking forward to England v France tomorrow.

I have only been to one 6 Nations game - England v France in 2019...44-8 to us. Somehow I don’t think tomorrow’s result will be quite so satisfying for England!

  10. Yeah, tomorrow is going to be quite a game. Crunch will be the sound made by broken bones...

I sincerely hope referring will be objective and equal (that’s been our main and constant issue when playing England these last 10 years) and that both teams will want to play some beautiful ball game and not a remake of ww1 trench warfare.

  12. A reminder for your timepieces today for the following matches; Italy / Wales 14.15 and England / France 16.45.

    • Thanks Thanks x 2
  13. And the ITV coverage of both matches will be preceded by utter f**king dross. 45 minutes of it in the case of Wales vs Italy and 30 minutes of it for England vs France. Andy

  15. I have absolutely no interest in the drivel from retired players selling themselves as pundits, just to pad the programme out. I’d far rather watch the test card. Andy

  16. I've just walked in the door and it's not a surprise really with the score so far.

  17. Wales are playing with much more discipline. Italy have been poor, scrum for a too long the kick off and a yellow card in the first 5 minutes. Andy

  18. I'll watch the second half with a mug of tea.:upyeah:

  19. The French flair is out in force at the minute, what a cracking game for both sets of fans.:upyeah:

  20. Rugby at its best!!!

At last England is playing, no kicking, both teams are just phenomenal. The previous game, in comparison, looked so dull...

    May the best win. :punch::)
