  4. I see England could be penalised oneway or the other for their response to last weeks AB's Haka with that now famous White V lineout stance.but i asked myself why as this is surely good for rugby/ T.V / bums on seats.does anyone remember David Campese back in the day with his little routine.

  5. Campo was showing a total disrespect for the culture of his opponents. Poor show, but what would you expect from him (I like him BTW).
Facing up to the Blacks (or other Pacific island Haka) in the way that England did is more than acceptable. Surely a case of whats good for the goose. I fear the rugby authorities will not take this view and impose a fine like they did to France under similar circumstances.

  6. Any punishment is because they were over the centre line. You could hear the ref trying to get them back, and they stood firm.

PS loved Eddie Jones wind up on that welsh coach bloke ;)

  7. ^ Correct but they were right to and there was no way they would or could stand down. Entertaining as well. Farrell was pissing himself, very good to watch. Fine will be a token. Rugby can take itself a little too seriously at times I think.

oh, and Mr Jones' response was indeed funny (if a little hurtful, wheres my man sized? :broken_heart:)

  8. i dont see why culture has to intervene.......i see the haka as an unfair advantage not afforded to the other teams. It may of started out as cultural but it is now a psychological advantage that has moved on to a bit of a movie style opening sequence!
In this age of equality it should be banned , or if it is allowed then the opposition teams should be allowed to respond in whatever manner they deem even from a competitive stance to negate the advantage.
Englands response was appropriate to the haka, it wasn't disrespectful it was just a way of equalling the advantage. Just as much as all teams now take the haka with their tracksuits on to slow down the unfair momentum provided to the opposition.
It is a game, winners make it happen, losers let it happen.

  9. Dont ban it, its great. Big part of the enjoyment. But agree that teams should be able to respond respectfully. Goes without saying as the game is built on respect anyway, is it not?

  10. especially with the Scottish, welsh, and irish...;):punch:

  11. Did the pretend outrage at Englands' stance come from the all blacks team or mostly, media stirring aided by twitter?

  12. i want to say sour grapes.......but i think they are better than that! they turn up to most matches the opposition already beaten, ....except this one the biggest match for all concerned in four years, and got well and truly out thought out played and beaten!

  13. Didn’t England once stand directly on front of them, about a metre away from the lead player?

  14. It is not sour grapes nor media. It is the rugby authorities taking a draconian view on the law. The law is an ass.

  15. Richard Cockerill?

  16. Agreed - they should make it a proper dance off
