  5. Some of my friends have triumphs, I think its 50 - 60 mph for first 600 miles.
So the Ducati is a doddle in comparison to run in.

  6. I will be running mine in as of tomorrow :) i will simply take it easy. Who is to say that the 5 -10 mile pre delivery road test is not a good trashing from the mechanic........I will never know

  7. Hope the weather is ok. My ride back was pissing rain the whole way. Bike looked disgusting afterwards.

  8. I was talking to ducati mechanic they can tell by ecu how it's been run in the dash not fully open tool after first service , also he recons tel, if bike been thrashed from cold start even . Font know how true this is . I know the BMW stores all sorts if info eg lean angle snd speed If comes to sudden stop crash etc . Hence I'm not riding one lol .

  9. First 600mls is 6K rpm. The revs on the display are set to this and go red over 6K.
Once it has had its service the ecu is reset and the revs redline as normal...so go for it!
Also recommend set the maps to suit...I leave it in Sport Mode (for road based display) but swapped the default engine setting to Race..big difference, feels more like I expected.

  10. Yo. Well I'm running my 1299 in. Had it 2 months now and still only done 470 miles. What with working away a lot and sometimes shitty weather at the weekends, its taking its time. Good job I have the 1199 to remind me how fast these beasties are.

  11. Which do you prefer of the two? Is the 1299 that much different to ride?

  12. 1199 much better don't care what anyone says 1299 worst bike ive been on,

  13. The 1199 is a beast. It is everything I wanted in a bike. So fast, the noise, the backfires on gear change, and loves pointing skywards. I was so proud when I bought it 14 months ago . Then I wanted one as a track bike, and I found a 1 month old 1299 up for sale. The price was right, so I bought it. I aint rode it much yet, but there is a difference between them. The 12 seems refined, The gear change is a lot smoother. They say they have tamed the beast with the electronics, But you can switch them off !! Then you get a more powerful 1199 I haven't had the first service yet, so limited to 6000rpm. But I will see soon the real diff. The 12 will be my road bike . The 11 the track bike. Think I will start re-praying the 12 next week the same as the 11. I see we have bad weather setting in for a while, so my bikes aint getting wet or dirty, or me cold.
