Check your Oil specs, should tell you safe operating temp range, My 800SSie runs between 85 and 115 deg C.
My Aircooled 1000SS and M1000 both run anywhere between 90 and 108 depending on the Ambient temperature and if I'm moving or in traffic. Although the Monster is always a little cooler sat in traffic than the SS. I thought the upper reaches of that were too high when I first ran the SS up to temp, but a couple of people told me it was OK considering Ducati temperature reading can be quite a long way out, and really should only be a worry if it changes from one ride to another. When I got the M1000 on the road and it ran at about the same I was happy. My Watercooled 999 in general runs a lot cooler. Back in the summer I don't think I saw it go above 100 even on really hot days in traffic. A couple of weeks ago it was really cold outside, in traffic it was at @92, but went down as low as 75 cruising across country. I was Frozen!
