True, I was in Germany last year roads were in superb condition compared with our Ethiopian standard roads
A lot to do with the roads are the thick arseholes they use to build them. Brand new road by my house. Been up for 18 months. Road is now partially closed off while they rip it up and do it again. Massive craters appearing and the surface is falling apart
That's what's happening everywhere, and I refuse to believe it's just the weather causing this. It's unlikely to be the workforce either, cos it's the same story all over the country. It's got to be down to either shit materials or contractors cutting corners.
The six mile strip of tarmac from where I work to where I live when I'm "down south" suffers far worse weather than we ever get in the UK, and being the main road to the port and the fuel depot it gets a lot of heavy lorries using it on a daily basis - somehow it survives both of these things far better than most of the roads in the UK - there are no big holes appearing in it and the surface is not breaking up. If it can be done in the Falklands, with limited budget and limited resources, how come it can't be done in the UK ?
