I guess it's a bonding exercise which is not a bad thing when your on holiday with other like minded individuals. keep the pictues coming
The ride to get the ferry was pleasant enough ... nice scenery and a few good twisty sections. On any organised tour there is always someone who has to be at the front behind the guide. On this tour it is the Indians. There is also always someone who is unassuming but fast and smooth. On this trip it is 60 year old Mike. And there is always someone who has plenty of experience but is much slower than everyone else. On this tour it is wee Tess. I’m just plodding away, trying to take it easy with the Mrs on the back as she hasn’t done many trips and I’m hoping she’ll want to do more.
As a matter of interest @Dave presumably the organisers provide bike to bike(s) comms for all but do you and your wife have rider/pillion comms other than shouting? Or is it the same comms system? In which case does the whole group hear rider/pillion conversations. I’m curious, for my own future benefit, as to how these things work nowadays. The last time I toured anywhere with SWMBO the latest tech consisted of the electronic version of tin cans on string; a detachable audio cable that linked rider/pillion. Bluetooth hadn’t been invented. TIA
The wife and I have our own but the tour operator does not provide comms for bike to bike. They provide satnav with pre-programmed routes and operate the drop-off system if you choose to ride with the group.
The scenery in Corsica is amazing. This was the view from our first coffee stop. We spent the night in Ajaccio and had a wander round the town to see the statues and house where Napoleon was born.

Ouch! I guess it kind of puts a damper on things for the entire group when that happens; I hope the fracture's not to serious and she makes a speedy and full recovery. How did that go down with your other half? I know mine would say, 'right that's it, I'm getting a taxi, I'll see you at the end of the week'.
I mentioned the thread to my wife - minus the off, she's now thinking of a business opportunity buying loads of Hardly's or Goldwing's and doing a rental service for touring round Scotland - I said cool as long as I can keep my Duke (and add some more purely for advertising purposes you know ) Need to organise a nice little bank job now
Nice idea. I’ve had a similar thought for here as the availability of such is very limited. FYI, all those bikes used as rentals are PCP’d or there’s a deal been done with the manufacturer/dealer, new bikes every 6 months and the dealer gets the servicing as well.
