When my 848 went down the fixed peg did not break... About 1/4 inch ground away, also bent the frame tabs. I can also vouch for the foldy uppers saving the frame in a crash... You may of course have other issues... It may well be that you'd prefer the bike to be written off after a crash, rather than being repaired and categorised, guess it depends on yr insurance and the age of yr 'ped.
