"Cupcake"... FFS ! It's a bun ! The creeping tide of Americanisms in common usage in the UK is ridiculous. It's not a movie, it's a film. It's not an elevator, it's a lift. I even heard someone call a mobile phone a "cell-phone" the other day - Arrrggghhhhh ! Speak English !
Getting back on topic and away from sugary comestibles. Amongst the multitude of all pervading Americanisms where I work the one I really hate is "reach out to" instead of plain old "ask".

Banter. Often pronounced "bhan-tah". Basically meaning being rude and then pretending it was a joke, as in "Iz jus bhan-tah innit?". Often used by trendy dick-heads.

We are where we are = I messed up so want to gloss over it and not learn from my mistake, which hopefully someone else will have to sort out. Often followed by 'so, going forward...' that is the gloss over stage.
