Strange I would have assumed the more fuel you put in the more you would burn and in turn I don't know of any bike (pre dyno work) that ran rich in the lower end.... The normal rule of thumb is to starve a bike of fuel in the bottom end to get it through emissions (so based on what you say) a stock bike would produce more NOx..... All the bikes I've ever had dyno'd (4 now) ive seen the stock pull and the bottom end is always starved of fuel. Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Our UK MOT test isn't interested in NOx levels. We measure CO instead. Until recently NOx (nitrogen oxide) hasnt been of concern, but it's now hitting car manufacturers hard so they have to create lean burn engines to lower CO and use low oxygenated air from the EGR system to get combat the NOx problem. This will be on bikes in the future I suspect, just likes catalysts and O2 sensors are now.
Yes... I can see that coming and, for that reason I've kinda pitched my tent with the bikes I have now (1100 evo sp, pre aprc rsv4 and non abs gen 4 z1ooo) all current ish bikes but interfered with, with electronics and emissions... Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Missed this evo: I put my z1ooo on the dyno and had the ecu reflashed....I spoke to Kawasaki about it and they were ok....they said they would only cover what wasn't messed with which I was fine with - they accepted that with a full system - then It was healthier to the engine that It was dyno'd but, they would'nt cover the stuff that was changed - which, for me, was fair enough...
I wonder what Ducati's position would be in the same instance. I think it will and would impact the warranty if you dyno and the engine then it gives bother. That's the reason I don't and wouldn't do it, but someone might be able to shed some light on this.
Having said that I've not had an issue with it yet but itll be out of warranty come October. Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Do slip on's effect the running of an engine? Specifically, a 959 with an SC slip on? My view is that all the crap is in the belly bucket, so it should be fine. But to be honest I don't know.
Not keen myself. It appears to suffer from the Honda problem (can needs to come off in order to effect a tyre change).
Could be tight judging by the gallery here - PHOTOGALLERY DUCATI PANIGALE 1299 EXHAUST SYSTEM Even so, is it an elaborate slip on or full system? Obviously not knowing how the exhaust connects on the 1299 I'm struggling to understand how this also fits the 959 unless it's a full header system? Does the 1299 header finish underneath and connect to the under belly exhuast at the same place that the 959 header connects to the cat? Therefore you remove the cat on the 959 and/ or the stock exhaust cans on the 1299 and you're left with the same size / shape connection?
If anybody is interested in an sc project crt silencer for a 1199 I have one for sale. Lightly used but in great condition. Sounds amazing just like a moto gp 2 bike. Only selling due to getting a 1299 soon and this has a different fixing design so it will not fit. Please pm if anyone interested. Cheers. James.
