Scam

  1. Remember some years ago working at a printing company we got an email into our prepress dept from Ekatrina a young attractive lady who had the misfortune to have been duped by a proper cad of an Englishman who after having promised to leave his wife and kids for her he had a change of heart, left her stranded at Moscow airport and so for only a few hundred dollars she would devote her love to someone in our company called “prepress”.

Well we decided to direct her love interest to a guy called Mike. He lived at home with mum and dad and had no significant other, a substantial disposable income but friends at work who looked out for his interests.

Well exchanges went on for several weeks exchanging more and more racier pictures each way, which wasn’t difficult when you worked for a porn company producing printed and digital media.
Us sending pictures of mikes head crudely photoshopped onto some hunks body and them sending pictures of Ekatrina semi naked holding up a plaque with “I luv u Mike” crudely photoshopped on the front of it, whenever we questioned her true love for Mike.

We couldn’t believe how long we managed to keep it going when we were clearly onto what they were doing, but I guess they were just as desperate for cash from us as the promise of true love they spiel to their victims?

well in the end they’d had enough and told us to fuck off and leave them alone, which we did but not before signing up their email to the 100’s of porn mailing lists we built and administered for the company we worked for ;):joy:

  2. BBC morning Tv did a good feature on scams during the summer I learnt a lot from them it opened my eyes.

Many vulnerable people mainly women who are desperate for love who give up their life savings for an internet knight in shining armour

social media plays a big part in getting scammed it's very surprising how many clues you leave including for family members who don't have social media who are elderly and get scammed
One lady said she didn't use social media and the programme found she had left a review on trust pilot
Many people use the same password and they have been in data breaches and accessible

  3. I do hope you are joking!

  4. Nope. There was a dodgy £950 transaction and ‘the bank’ then called to ‘cancel’ the transaction. But of course they were the scam team and tricked her into actually confirming the transaction. The little rascals.

  5. UGH. When was this?

  6. Not long ago. 4 months maybe. She had it on speakerphone, I wasn’t listening in but I pinged some unprofessional grammar from said scammer and asked who it was…. Too late…. :astonished:

The bank missed it all and reimbursed her the next day. So as punishment I made her buy me a pair of Dunlop KR108 slicks the very next day…. :D
