Scottish 500

Discussion in 'Touring' started by finm, Sep 7, 2015.

  1. Me and the wife are going to Scotland in August for a couple of weeks doing the so called NC500 as our son is based at Lossie.
I'm after a bit of a steer. How easy or difficult would it be to just book the first night and then book as you go or just turn up on the doorstep of a hotel and get a room? Asking those seasoned Scotland tourers. As we always tour Europe we thought it about time to ride our own country, Ireland next year.
    Cheers

  2. I did, but it was the end of April.

The Highland tourist board list a number of places to stay, as does The Biker Guide.

  3. careful once you get out in the sticks, lots and lots of B+B's but very nearly got caught out doing the islands a few years back.

  4. August is high season so I'd work out an itinerary and book ahead. That way when you're on holiday you're not burning time and stressing about sorting out accommodation.
