This one would be my choice. I love the looks. I'd love to get my hands on some old Army ammunition cans a fabricate something so I could use said ammo cans as a saddle bag system.
I did look at that vid just before - I think for the first time from a bike point of view it looks worse in video than in a still....that's a first for me as usually bikes look better when actually viewed...for me anyway.
Don't think I'll be rushing to trade in the Streetfighter. I agree the yellow tanked version looks like a parts bins special. Nothing matches anything else. For me the Green one is better but still nothing special. Its not hideous just something of nothing. Looks like another nondescript 70's two-wheeler.
I'm assuming that this is a style exercise and the bike will have no serious off-road capability, in which case what they've done is taken a Monster engine and used it to make a modestly powered user-friendly urban commuter/general purpose entry level middle weight. So what exactly was wrong with the Monster then?
The seat is shite, I keep thinking of CX500's. The rest looks bloody good to me though. Good luck getting a front tyre for it in ten years...
Two things missing that would have made it a very nice design; A pair of rear shocks from a classic etc. As it stands it looks as though there is something missing from the back end. With the above, and a pair of TKC's it would be a half decent desert sled.
Still says "Scrambler" on the badge and I find that a bit naff. Should say Ducati! It is the best looker in the photos though. Will have to have a good look at the NEC if I go.
I'm becoming more annoyed with the bike the more I look at it. The swingarm and seat are giving me the 'ump.
It's a fantastic looking thing, I'd happily sign the form and ride off on one. It's cool. I want one, can I afford one, who cares. I imagine though, there will be a fair few slidding up the road with riders thinking they can slide the tail end out. Look quite a small bike. Scrambler in style, not in practice.
First thing I'd do though is get rid of those bars and put some proper scrambler Renthals on. Those look like they should have a little basket hanging from them.
Easy mod for additional springing on the rear, just mount the footpegs on the swingarm, then your pillions legs can compensate - simple
To me it's just a monster in a party frock, and not a very nice frock at that - not at all stylish and zero substance Not convinced one iota :Vomit:
