If they were used to go to serious incidents(armed robberies/housebreakings/assaults) quickly I would have no issue with giving the police powerful bikes/cars however its the front line officers you see running around in the Hyundais, Protons, Astra's etc. Traffic department always get the cream of the crop and are often seen doing insane/dangerous speeds to incidents(accidents) that have already occurred(and where there will probably one of their colleagues already in attendance) or hairing after a speeding motorist in probability doing far greater speeds than the person they are chasing. For anyone who wonders what that white band is on the cap of a traffic cop? It's a spare pair of underpants in case they come across a real criminal.
Surely they should ride/drive vehicles built in the home country? as do Italian, German, French etc. Police...
That's why our capture rate is higher than the Italians and French. Our police aren't sat by the side of the road with the bonnet up.
