Both bikes are indeed easy on the eye but unless you live in heavily built up areas or only ride for short durations you’ll quickly tire of the lack of power IMO. Triumph Trident Monster KTM 790 (pre owned only)
you're probably right would have only been a dabble. It's not always the power with me, I really miss a 125 two-stroke.
TBH that’ll be temporary once the novelty of owning a low powered machine wanes. I’d considered and rejected both the options posted and came to the same conclusion. But then I’m mostly fast riding whenever I go out, even when I was green ,awning on my 250 GasGas it was slow on the road sections.
what the little 2-stroke? - naaah! love 'em to bits and still got.. a few. you are right in that I wouldn't ride it throughout the year or long journeys but i rarely do the latter now anyway.
A few, you’re hoarding them I hope you’re not holding a twin headlight CagivaGot my eye half on a Aprilia 50 for my lads first bike May next year then buy him the 125 version a year later. I’m 10 kilo too heavy for a 125.
I quite like the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 for bombing about the lanes, at around the £5k mark it must be value for money.
You don’t live in Solihull do you. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284437596575?hash=item4239cd499f:g:togAAOSwlSJhMmvy
You’d have hoped he have cleaned it up a little for it’s photo shoot. KTM 690 engine, proven reliability but more stylish bike design by Husqvarna I’d buy 1 as a quick blast round town bike or to local bike meet. Wouldn’t ride it any great distance maybe 1-2 hours at most if that.
But that's the point with the OP's thread, just a local country lane missile with the odd coastal runout.
I remember doing that back in nineties with a group of mates, i had a fireblade, it was hard work with their farting around at slow speeds so i added a little new CB500, and i still beat them up.
I have a 2007 Honda CBF500, the cockroach of Motorcyles, use it for rider training and London riding. I absolutely love it. It also reminds me just how fast big bikes are, but this is exciting to ride at 50mph. Can keep up with most in the bends and cost nothing to run.
