899 Security Advice Needed Please.

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by jamie_niall, Dec 8, 2014.

  1. Me too.....

..... I'll have to look out for Fort Knox whilst I'm out and about :)

Have a look at the Sold Secure 2014 catalogue - Sold Secure | Security Product Testing & Approval There are details of all of the locks etc that make Gold standard. The Xena X2 is definitely listed as Sold Secure Gold standard for motorbikes.

  2. Well done on getting the bike trac I've had both my bikes fitted with trackers for 3 years now.
    ~Best thing since sliced bread.

£100 a year sub but if you buy two year sub you get £20 knocked off a 3 year sub comes in at £229.

Both mine are on 3yr subs.

Just looked at the pinch thing not sure that would fit through the 899 wheel as it is not a single sided swing arm like most Ducati's

  3. Just as an additional not it may be worth looking at this site,
The Secure Shed Company, 01952 581654
I have ground anchors to but am seriously considering going down the route of a cag but not a full one, only need the front frame to bolt to the wall with the doors.

  4. Mate - just so the people at Pragmasis don't lose out on sales - I wrote to Pragmasis and specifically asked about the 899 dimensions and swing arm. David from Pragmasis wrote back straight away and was fully aware of the 899's dimensions - he even noted the difference in spindle taper between the 1199 and the 899. They really know their stuff - just drop them an email. I'd have gone with their product if they'd had the pins ready for immediate dispatch.

  5. Ahhhhh No worries, cheers for that

  6. Surely on a double swinger a thief could just remove the wheel and spindle and take the remaining bike?

  7. Mate - quick question... did your initial 899 Bike Trac installation include a year's worth of subscription? Ducati Manchester are charging me £400 to supply & fit and aren't including any subscription either.

  8. No the subscription is seperate I'm afraid, I assume they are putting it in the nose cone, its a real pain in the backside to do.
I get on really well with my dealer down here, unit was £300 and they didn't charge me for fitting it.

I have bought all my Ducati's from this dealer so I get a lot of labour for free on fitting new bits to a new bike.
