You could enhance the ironmongery with https://canary.is/ they would have to be balaclavered and not speak.
Ha ha, nice picture! Seriously though, you have a point. Some of the cordless diamond tipped cutting machines will slice through any chain unfortunately. It's going to make a din though. I look at security like an onion- the more layers the better. Number one for me is concealment. If they don't know it's there..... I always put a bit of thought into my chaining. Like I never leave any links on the ground that can be twatted with a big hammer. Ground anchor must be concreted in. Had a 999S nicked from one of those rawl plugged ground anchors and the fuckers plucked it out the ground like a carrot! PIR alarm system- standard. Big Bull Mastiff and slightly smaller Staffie. You'll never get your gaff totally fortified but if you can make it tougher than the other place on their radar then they'll choose the other place. Hopefully....
When we had our extension done and new garage built, I cemented in a bad boy anchor. My old rawl plug jobby was pulled out by the builders with ease.
I failed to remove my bolt in anchors from Pragmasis - Chemical Bolts - ended up leaving them and buying 3 new...
I went for the Pragmasis 19mm, Squires SS65CS and Torq Ground anchor. Took me a couple of months to realise that my angle grinder was stored in open view alongside the bike . Needless to say it is now stored inside the house.
+1 for Pragmasis. Got their thickest chain with padlock. Don’t lock yr bike up wearing flip flops. I put the padlock on the seat lent over the bike and managed to roll the padlock off the seat and onto my foot As said above, don’t leave tools to defeat security in plain site in your garage. Also light switches which are moved/hidden or even dummy ones rigged to a siren will slow the little darlings down if they gain access to yr man cave.
Would only carry a chain in a bag/luggage pack. Think it would rip you to bits if you had an off and it was wrapped around you
Good idea. Just had a look and there is one 10 minutes away. It’s a 2.5m though, not great for commuting with but tempting all the same.
if only you told me that you could have treated me for a late christmas present and dropped it round to me,,,only joking
