@finm I was talking to a friend’s little girl, and she said she wanted to be he First Minister one day. Both of her parents, SNP supporters, were standing there, so I asked her, ‘If you were to be the First Minister, what is the first thing you would do?’ She replied, ‘I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.’ ‘Wow - what a worthy goal.’ I told her, ‘You don’t have to wait until you’re First Minister to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard and driveway, and I’ll pay you £50. Then I’ll take you over to the shops where the homeless man is, and you can give him the £50 to use toward food or a new house.’ She thought that over for a few seconds ‘cause she’s only 6. And while her Mom glared at me, the little girl looked me straight in the eye and asked, “Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the £50?” And I said, “Welcome to the Conservative Party, sweetheart.”
If you left it locked in gear or locked the engine, they'd just cut the chain (twice if required). Very easy with a battery grinder.
tbh, it was only a wee jokey joke. but talking of the torys, i noticed it was that cold last night i spotted one with his hands in his own pockets.
We need something that stops it being pushed away easily... removing the stability of the wheels or steering would be great.
Similar to a safe principle. Very heavily protected strong mechanism, the movement of which is controlled by a technically secure code or key. Any attempt to force the code or key results in the mechanism becoming disengaged from the lock.
Trouble with many of the options it either adds weight or risk that failure of the solution while in use would be catastrophic. Or makes it ugly.
Badly designed I would agree. Perhaps it could only be engaged if held at full lock for 2 seconds (hydraulically measured) and the weight completely off the front wheel, like on a centre stand? I'm so worried about bike loss in London I don't let it out of my sight. These means I'm probably going to get hurt or go to prison when they try to steal it.
