You've spent longer than that with the grinder...plus, Amazon deliver

 

The sprocket on the shaft is thicker than where the teeth are. Making it hard to get the grinder in, without fear of hitting the case.

 

Could you drill the two holes with increasingly larger drills. Until they are down to the shaft. You would have more control over it than an angle grinder. Cut the outer part with a grinder. Put wood behind the hole so you know when you're through

My GPz1100 motor was stood for 20 years and that sprocket came off with fingers - hope that helps

 

I think he left it on for one year too many - schoolboy error

 

My front sprocket nut was seized... Until I bought an impact gun... 2 days of trying by hand, until Amazon did their thing and it came off in seconds.
