Well I went out on my bike, the roads were generally very quiet. I popped to Weymouth and found a supermarket with some food in it so managed to get what I went out for, very quiet in there too so easy to keep social distance. Rode along the promenade there and usually it would be busy on a nice day like today but there were very few families and couples scattered along the beach out walking the dog etc. I’d like to hope it doesn’t come to a blanket ban on leaving the house but I can’t see it somehow, too many people being too irresponsible, which is bizarre as you’d thing they’d be struggling to find the front door for toilet roll? Anyway nice to get out for my own sanity and actually ride the bike I bought in Dec, love it and can’t wait for things to relax and tour a little on it, oh and top boxes are bloody handy, never had one before, don’t think I could be without now.
I have seen a lot of pictures today from "have your say" groups on Facebook where motorcyclists congregate, showing fair size groups without much social distancing. Most of the comments are pretty anti bike, which will last long after the crisis has subsided. I'm of the believe that if we dont act socially responsibly, then it will be forced on us, probably within the next week
My mate & I purposefully stopped by a lake today away from other people and kept apart. It's not difficult to be sensible about this but I guess there's still - and for a little time will be - the attitude that it won't happen to them....
I am sorry to say that I think we have reached the point of:- Your Country Needs You to stay at home unless absolutely necessary. Gutting but necessary.
My neighbours friend has been confirmed as the first case in our town. Also the current advice is to act as if you already have the virus, re distancing, staying home etc.
So it seems Boris is also telling you selfish types to grow-up or he’ll force you to stop acting irresponsibly and MSV have read the message loud and clear. Go home and stay there. Go on, tell me I’m over-reacting or being a drama queen, if that’s how you want to justify your immaturity.
Matlock Bath this afternoon, all keeping their distance!!! And a Speciale reported to have crashed on the Snake Pass, road closed.
Same as here @Birdie the shitheads here are packing the beaches and lakes so I'd say they will do a full lockdown this week ! Probably the same coming for you guys as people won't listen !
I remember very well foot and mouth disease nearly 20 years ago. Even as a farmer I remember not being all that concerned about it when it was first announced. It was hundreds of miles away and not of any concern to me. Then it started to spread. The ministry of agriculture at the time imposed a movement ban on animals which slowed it but it kept spreading due to people moving from farm to farm and walking on footpaths across farm land. The government then imposed bans on the use of public footpaths in the countryside. People being people though didn’t listen. The disease crept closer and closer and came to within two miles of me which is only a few fields in distance. We brought all the livestock indoors, 500 cows and 1500 sheep housed inside and completely locked the place down. No one could come in or out other than feed deliveries and the milk tanker and they were jet washed off with disinfectant and the drivers wore all in one suits which were put on at arrival in the wagon before they set foot out. It was a scary time. Even with all the government information and advice I had to literally tell people to Fcuk off who were wandering on the footpaths. They just didn’t grasp the situation and just had the attitude that no one will tell them what to do and they’ll carry on doing what they want. It’s the same now with coronavirus. People will carry on regardless doing what they want. Only when it impacts them directly will they then stop and think, but by then it’ll probably be too late. After this weekends total disregard of the advice given I think we’re going to see a big jump in cases over the next week or so and a lock down will come as it will be only way to stop peoples aimless and pointless movements.
I think people are mistaken for the summer holidays instead of corona virus The schools should have stayed open
Sure we have a fucktard here diagnosed with covid 19 and he's caused a small cluster outbreak from what the docs can figure out guess where the shithead was last week !!! Cheltnum race festival its unbelievable !
