  11. I would... my bikes go to good homes for the right money or they stay here where they'll be loved and maintained properly. I couldn't bear to let a bike go to someone not right for it. I sold a Fireblade to get the 999 and it breaks my heart every time I see it now, as it's covered in Chinese eBay tat and looks bloody horrible.

    Also I prefer Sterling. ;)

  12. It's an astonishing thing. I hopped right off the 999 onto it the other day and the comparison is incredible. The HP Sauce is very plush and accomplished. One thing makes me chuckle though, everyone said that the HP4 was an easy bike to ride fast, as you don't realise how quick you're going. I can only think that those people have never ridden a 999 or similar, as I found that the natural speed for both my 749 and 999 waking up is around 100mph and you get there effortlessly. The HP4 feels like you need to work it harder to get the pace. I'd say that the aerodynamics and ergonomics are better on the 999 too. So the BMW is quick and efficient, and at the top end it has phenomenal pace but you do not get the bottom end grunt that you get with the Ducati... heated grips though!

Closest comparisons with the HP4 would be a 5JJ R1, but it has the hollow bellow of a sorted GSX-R1000. I think it's mega, but I'm faster on a v-twin and the 999s is more effortless to ride quickly, as it slows time down.

  13. Any pics of the 748 bud?

  14. At the moment it's wearing a rather scary Infostrada Chinese fairing kit. It's getting a bit of an overhaul before selling (replacing 3 spokes with 5 spokes, new Rosso IIs, revert to proper Ducati fairings, belts / valve service, upgrade to NOS Showa rear shock and freshly serviced TiNitrided Showa forks, good used OE screen and a pair of fresher OE levers). It'll be mint when it's done and the only thing separating it from an S will be the lack of adjustable headstock and decals. It's a 2002 748 Biposto with 11k on the clock.

  15. Mr Fire
Your 3 spokes wouldn't happen to be original gold by any chance but as your replacing with 5 spokes i take it there grey,

  16. Correct, it's a 2002 bike so it has the late 3 spokes in grey without the writing in the centres. :)
