Sorry for bringing it up again...but didn't want to resurrect a dead thread either and thought I might have possible new evidence .... ...namely 'Senna' appearing next to 'S4' when I typed my Vin into https://www.ducati.com/ww/en/service-maintenance/recall-campaign I don't buy the grey colour is called 'Senna' because its the same as grey flour as mentioned above, when clearly Ducati developed the colour for their original Senna 916 edition and its named Senna after the great man! So come on chaps, get your Log books out and type your vin into the recall link above, does your red Ducati come up as Model plus colour or model plus edition? Then we can bury this for ever!
The 916 senna came in 3 colors. Silver, grey and black i think each time 300 bikes. There was no monster senna neither is the 748 in flat grey with red wheels a senna. Just a color combination wich was nice. Later on did mv agusta a senna edition as well on the F4. Henk!!!
But you forget the 1199 Senna... And yes, no such thing as a Monster S4 Senna, or 748 Senna or ST4 Senna. Only the 916 Senna and the (Brazil Only) 1199 are official Senna models recognised by Ducati and the Senna Foundation. What a dealer manages to put on the form when registering the bike doesn't make it official
I remember theS4 when it first came out . I fell in love with it and was determined to get one. There was never a "Senna" mentioned. It was always described as grey and it didn't cost anymore than any other colour. I suspect people who have them later in the bikes life refer to them as Senna in the hope they can screw more money out the next buyer it's a myth which people have fallen for
I still have the 916 Senna sales brochure from a Ducati dealer in Tokyo. I almost bought one when I lived there in the mid 90's. I bought a Lucky Strike RGV250r for track days instead. What a dummy.
Ok, I did this on the VIN thingy and my 2009 M1100S comes up without the colour (red) just the model. However, as stated by several above ‘Senna’ as a Ltd Ed is not applicable to Monsters of this era. Why not check with Ducati directly?
My Carbon Carla started life as a metallic grey S4 with red wheels and was advertised as a "Senna". I still only paid £1,900 for her though, so Ayrton can do one
