Exactly! Regards this 'Vale kicking MM's brake/clip-ons'. I just didn't see that - to me it looked like MM barged into Rossi's leg when MM accelerated mid corner on the outside. i.e. From what I can see MM accelerated into Rossi's leg with his arm or shoulder.
This from Crash.net: Valentino Rossi has denied kicking out at Marc Marquez, causing the Spaniard to fall during their intense Sepang MotoGP battle. The Malaysian weekend began with Rossi accusing Marquez of helping title rival Jorge Lorenzo at Phillip Island - and ended with the Honda rider sprawled on the ground after the pair clashed while fighting furiously over third place, on lap 7 of 20. Rossi claimed that Marquez had been deliberately holding him up - mirroring his Phillip Island accusations - but this time Rossi responded by trying to block pass the Spaniard. The Doctor declared that he wanted to deliberately force Marquez wide, in order to try and breakaway from the #93 after countless passes between the pair. But instead Rossi's leg made contact with Marquez's handlebar, dumping the double world champion on the ground. “I don't want to make Marquez crash and I don't kick him," Rossi declared. "If you look at the images, as I did in Race Direction, frame-by-frame and you see from the helicopter. The helicopter is where you see it more because from the side it looks like I gave him a kick. “From the helicopter if you see, in slow motion, it is quite clear that I go wide. I don't want to say I do the normal corner - I wanted to go to him, slow down and make him lose time. Because it is the only thing that I can do, because in every braking he overtake me, slow down a lot in the corners and for me he didn't open the throttle on the straights. “When I slow down, slow down, slow down and I go to cut his line, we touch. He touched me with the handlebar on my left leg and it is for that reason he crashed, because he opened the handlebar on my leg and he crashed. “But if you go slow, you see frame-by-frame that when I lose the foot on the footpeg Marquez is already down, he has already crashed. First of all, if I want to kick him, I can kick him also 20-30 metres before because we were already close. But especially if you give a kick to a MotoGP rider he don't crash, because the bike is heavy, has a lot of grip. “He just touched my leg with the handlebar and he crashed. So I'm very disappointed for the three penalty points.” Quizzed on why he looked across twice at Marquez just before the contact, Rossi replied: “I looked at Marquez five or six times on the first laps. I look at him to say 'what you f**king doing? Why you do this another time?'” Rossi was handed three penalty points for the contact, which Race Direction accepted was not deliberate. Because Rossi already has one penalty point from Misano, it means he will start the Valencia title showdown with Lorenzo from last place on the grid. Lorenzo finished second in the race, cutting Rossi's championship lead to seven points.
I think it's clear this has split opinions but a majority seem to side with Vale. When the likes of the Lowes boys, Ellison & Brooke's all say they would view it as a racing incident then you've got to think they should have both had a penalty or neither
I can see this is going to roll on for the next century, Bradders made a good point when and if a rider thinks someone has taken them out they stand up a make a gesture but MM didn't, probably to busy smiling, Is it that Dani has started winning because MM is playing games maybe? Should be interesting at the next post race interview, Hope Kent wins
Very interesting to see such widely differing opinion, its quite easy to see the rational argument verses the very blinkered Rossi can do no wrong, so what need s to happen in Valencia for Rossi to take the title IF JL wins VR must come 2nd JL 2nd VR must come 3rd JL 3rd VR must come 6th Points drawn and JL take the title because of more wins, I can't see MM or DP helping anyone in Spain and almost certainly the first 3 will be JL,MM,DP in what order could decide who is 2015 world champ, I think Rossi will slice through the field and just needs to hope that DP & MM finish in front of Jorge
i'm praying for rain in Valencia , not much chance but i can hope Iannone to knock Jorge off in Valencia eye for an eye, Italy v Spain Down to the last race this is Brilliant
Trouble is Rob your view is always the opposite blinkered view. No matter what Rossi does you always find a fault in it. I remember years ago saying that if Rossi discovered a cure for cancer you would still say 'Yeah but....'. When you look around the web and most high level racers are saying MM was at fault for falling off and all that Rossi did was push him wide then sorry I take their opinion onboard as they know what they are talking about.....
Well, if running someone out wide onto the grass or whatever on exit to a corner is now illegal, moto 3, moto 2, all super sports championships, any club racing and Shakey Byrne are fucked Marquez had a choice. Tough it out and push back, or shut the throttle and lose time. He chose the first. But if it hadnt happened that corner, I'd be amazed if they both made more than 3 more laps with the passes getting closer and more aggressive each time Ianone will take out Lorenzo turn 1 Valencia. Rossi will win title. JLo will not second the second instalment of cheetos.
Where are you looking? No doubt. But he never meant a crash. He was running him wide, ruining his exit and making a point. You slow down... You sit up.... You turn to look.... You premeditate.... It's pretty clear , the evidence is there.
Err as someone mentioned above the Lowes, Brookes and another all said that.... Even the Foggy quote is saying he ran him wide but no intention on crashing. Watching the BT coverage Heuwen and Ryder both initially were outraged but after they kept showing repeats from different angles even they were coming round to the he stood him up, MM chose to fight and not back down which then caused the crash. As has been said if MM felt so wronged he would have lost it after the crash but he didnt even make any gestures as far as I saw....
