OK so who is arguing with this? Some clearly have gunk in their eyes because the way Vale explains it here is what my eyes saw too... (from MotoGP.com) Rossi shares his views on the dramatic incident between him & Marquez at the Malaysian GP. Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi addressed the world’s media after meeting with Race Direction to explain his views on the clash with Marc Marquez during the Shell Malaysia Motorcycle Grand Prix: Marc Marquez said you took your leg off and kicked him, was it a case of red mist? “No Marquez knows that is not true, because it is very clear from the image, especially from the helicopter that I don’t want to make him crash. I just want to make him lose time and go out of the line and slow down because also this time, a lot worse than in Australia, he make his dirty game no? When I go wide, wide, wide, I slow down, we almost stop and I look at him to say, “F**K, what the f**k are you doing?” After we touch and he touched with his handlebar on the right on my leg, and I lose the foot from the foot peg, but if you look at the image from the helicopter it is clear that when I lose the foot from the footrest Marquez had already crashed. So I don’t want to kick him. Also if you give a kick to a MotoGP™ bike, it don’t crash. It is not that you kick the bike; it is very heavy, like this, and he crash. But unfortunately we touched; he wanted to turn because I go very wide and I fell his handlebar on my leg her, on my thigh and I lose the leg on the foot peg. It is like this.” What is your opinion on the sanction you have been handed? “For me is not fair, also because like this, Marquez win his fight! His program is okay because he made me lose the championship. Especially for me the sanction is not good because I don’t want to make him crash purposefully, I just reacted to his behaviour. I didn’t kick him and I didn’t want to make him crash. But you know, you don’t say nothing in the press Conference, maybe change something. But for me this is unfair; as I just want to fight for the championship with Jorge and the better man win. Like this it doesn’t happen.” Is there anything that you regret? “I don’t know, I don’t want to make him crash, but I had to try to do something. At that moment Jorge was already gone, but I’ve said everything.” Do you think the Championship is over? “It is not over, but this sanction cut my leg and make Marquez win.”
Jules from Soup (excerpt): "Things just changed. Massively. This is what happened: On the third lap at Turn 4 Marquez's Honda did one of those vicious snaps that has put him on the floor several times. This time it put him right off the edge of the track and allowed Lorenzo to go past and gap him. There were other little bits of misbehavior but this was the one that detached Marc from Pedrosa and Lorenzo and put him into the clutches of Valentino Rossi. From number 46's point of view, he must have imagined his prediction of Thursday coming true. He saw Marquez reversing towards him, favoring Lorenzo by allowing him to escape. There followed three laps, well, nearly four, of frenzied passing and re-passing. It was hard but mostly fair. Check the lap times: from 2:01.360 to 2:02.107 by Marc. No one can call that slow. On lap seven, going into the right-hander before the back straight, Rossi looked to his left several times and (judging by the on-board sound) on a closed throttle deliberately ran wide, taking Marc out to the edge of the track. Marc leaned into Valentino, Vale' stuck a knee out to prevent contact and then snagged Marc's handlebar. Down he went. Rossi's leg was wrenched back and his foot came off the rest, but he did not kick out at the Honda. It looked bad. Race Direction thought so and gave Rossi three points on his license, and as he already has one that took him to four and a compulsory start from the back of the grid at Valencia. Marquez is coldly furious; Valentino is combative but his attitude defensive. This are the bare facts as I see them. Race Direction said that they judged that Valentino did not want to knock Marc off his bike but his actions were culpable. They also decided that Marc had contributed in some way with his riding. A deliberate attempt to knock a rider off his bike (Hanika on Bagnaia in Moto3 at Brno) would have attracted five points."
Blimey theres a petition online now to get the points reversed! Petition · Remove the penalty from Valentino Rossi and bring back integrity to the Championship. · Change.org
and this one, funny simone ciotola MILANO, ITALY about 4 hours ago Liked 26 I sign this petition because lorenzo and marquez are scum bags
Damn right too. It's a bloody disgrace - despite what the Rossi haters are saying. Dare I say... knee jerk reaction? (giving Vale that penalty)
Just read a Dutch comment who uses wash for was etc. I was expecting to see him say MM was crayshe but sadly he didnt.....
It's hard to tell for sure but it does look like MM has already lost it fractionally before VR has moved his leg and it seems even The stewards have seen that too by saying they agree VR's leg movement wasn't the cause of the crash. But what I can't understand is if that's the case what exactly have they punished Rossi for, just running Marquez wide??? I'm no Big Rossi fan and don't believe he has always been the outright fastest or best rider all round, just some aspects of his riding are better than others. However I have been rooting for him this year as at the start of the season you would say he should have been the underdog really. I have admired the way he has used his experience to good advantage this year on many occasions which is largely why he leads the championship. But I am now disappointed lately his actions have been like he has forgotten all that experience and it is really costing him. For example why did he choose to fight MM so early on when in all likelyhood MM could have caught and passed JL and possibly even bringing him up with him. Especially as JL has seemed to lose pace towards the end of recent races. He also seemed to leave the door open for AI at the end of the OZ GP rather amateurishly costing himself points. At Misano he could and should have used his experienced judgement to maximise his points haul there in the rain. And then his recent comments seemed obvious that they would do nothing to help him. With regards to JLo I just can't like him no matter how good a rider he is and his ranting at the officials is pretty disgusting really as he is trying to force their decision. I'd still like to see Rossi win as it's probably his last chance to make it a round 10 and to see JLo looking even more miserable than usual.
