A rider is always going to defend their position as we see with yesterday's protagonists, so do you discount anything they say? I see teams using heat detection guns on tyres in the pits, so I'm assuming they don't have this data monitored along with many other parameters probably. What would throwing braking data, throttle data, lean angle data into the mix from yesterday prove? Apart from Rossi braked to an almost stop and didn't turn, pretty damning for him I would have thought. Making a quick decision based on what you can see isn't perfect, agreed but you've seen it happen and your initial reaction is usually pretty good. 30 minutes to appeal isn't right though. more time is needed to gather more information. Would 24 hours be fair? I really don't know. It would fill more column inches though.

Who was to blame for the incident is crystal clear it just the rabid fan boys who aren't happy. To the extent that Rossi is thinking of spitting his dummy out and not racing at Valencia like he was the one wronged. He made a fellow rider crash and admitted he did it on purpose It was a cold calculated move like the ones he pulled on Pedrosa, Stoner, Biaggi and Gibernau where he got away scot free. But in VR words ' hey that's racing everyone like's a good scrap' except he doesn't when he's not good enough to win it. He attacked MM in the press conference for helping Jorge , who MM passed with two corners to go and won at Philip Island ? Helped Jorge ???? If you look at the telemetry VR was never going lap quicker or catch the front two. Even though they were passing each other regularly there was little effect on the overall lap times. Penalty was very lenient as he should of been black flagged for that stunt.
