it not a mantra, its fair appraisal of the riding of VR and MM. Both fucked about, VR lost his rag and cuased an incident in which MM didnt back down and it resulted in his off. Brinkmanship pays off for those with least to loose. VR pushed and MM pushed back harder.MM lost points and didnt finish race, VR finsided race and gained points. VR to start at back of grid. Seems pretty fair. no need to gift him places by pulling over. If he has the skill and will he will get through the pack
Why would it happen, lets not forget it'd be harming Lorenzo. I don't think he's an unpopular figure in the paddock. He's fair and a brilliant racer. The only people that seem to have a problem with him are Rossi (trying to get him kicked out of the Yamaha factory team a few years back, then leaving for Ducati when he didn't get his way. The whole wall in the garage thing and refusing to share settings. Even complaining about Lorenzo having differnt coloured legs on his leathers like himself.) and Rossi's fans. I think this stems from how good Lorenzo is, not anything he's done. Yeah, he may not have a brilliant personaiity, but a lot of lesser riders don't and they don't figure on peoples radar.
well i thot there was,, sorry cant do links , but it was something an like " valencia , spoiler etc " where we could move on from what might have been to what might be,,, but i think it has dissapeared,,, pity..
But you can only poke a placid dog so many times before he turns and bites you. I had a similar incident once on the road with a rider who wanted to race, I was 'making progress' and didnt want to race. So i continuned at my own pace, only to have this prick passing under me as I cornered, then he slowed so I would pass him. Now in hindsight I should have stopped, but in the heat I continued. It came to a head when on a right corner he started to pass me on the left!!! As got level, I backed off and pushed him into the verge where he crashed. I didnt care, I dont now, I didnt stop, he was a cunt. It wasnt on the news, so he must have lived. Those moments ruin the sport for me. I hope he broke his legs. You play with fire, and you get burned, simple as. Did I say he was a cunt?
I re-watched Hitting the Apex last night. For those who can't/don't/won't see past MM's squeaky clean, sports coach honed, cheesy corporate ambassador persona, it is definitely worth a watch. For those who didn't see him coming up through 125 and Moto2, it will give you a taste of his on-track attitude. You'll find that his 2013 debut season is the premier class was actually pretty tame compared to the mayhem he caused in the past. Take a look at the circumstances when he scored penalty points. Either way, I won't lay all the blame on him. I'm not going to bother analysing lap times to see if he did any deliberate blocking or slowing in PI or Sepang. I don't believe that the data will prove anything. All that is clear to me is that he chose: - not to run wide when he could or probably should have and then; - he opened the gas and turned in, finding Rossi and his bike in the way. He may have opened the gas because: - he expected Rossi to quit fucking around and turn in; or - he wanted to lean on Rossi and force him to turn in I'm a fan of all 4 aliens to be honest. I enjoy Lorenzo doing the 250 corner speed thing but fuck knows why he got so involved in the politics of late. I love Pedrosa beating the odds as an underdog and battling through years of shitty luck (2013 SHOULD have been his). Anyone who doesn't see the sheer balls and talent in Marquez is fucking blind. It's Rossi I've supported since the 125 days. Aged 16. I immediately felt this affinity to him. We're the same age. I've watched every race, felt all the elation, loved the inventive celebrations. Maybe we just both love luminous yellow. This amount of pressure, that everything he had done in 15 years would be ignored for the sake of a tired dog's performance in just 3 races would crush anybody. On Sunday though, after the 'incident', I felt pretty sick.
Haven't read any of the previous comments but..Rossi should have been disqualified. Dorna too scared of their TV commercial interests to sanction him properly as they knew that if he was outright disqualified then the final showdown circus would not happen. Call me a cynic...
think MM had a large part to play in his own undoing but rossi aint no angel. as some one said earlier they are very similar and neither adverse to playing on the outer limits of the rules and sportsmanship. whilst i think rossi's punishment harsh and will be gutted if it costs him the season, i dont lay the blame squarely at mm's feet. to call him a shit mouse and hate him so is a bit ott to me. as for other riders moving a side? that would be very unsporting. why take sides in a squabble that realistically NO ONE except the 2 riders involved really know the reason for and rational behind. I cant see anyone, except the back markers doing so and they normally do so anyway. certainly anyone who has been duffed up by rossi before wouldnt lose too much sleep...
Well it's not really similar and sounds like dangerous driving on the public highway to me. The guy you had a run in with on the road sounds like a c**t. By playing with fire, do you mean Marquez had the audacity to race Rossi? Some people on here seem to think Marquez should have let Rossi past with ease. I fail to understand why.
